About my on-line Gallery:
I've been weaving these tapestry illustrations for a couple of years. I like to tell stories, so the illustrations come from my imagination. The craft and technique are harder for a new artist. I needed a lot of learn-by-doing.
And now I want you to see my pieces. A public gallery's wall would be a great place to show them off. Meanwhile, this on-line gallery is a great way to view my craft, where-ever you are.
How? In my previous career as a computer programmer, I mastered the coding skills. The parts that you see use HTML and CSS computer languages. The parts you don't see use PHP and database files.
So! Here it is! I am proud and thankful for the art education I achieved at AuArts.ca, both theory and craft, as well as the help I received from friends around Calgary, from on-line tutorials, and the Library.

Traffic: on the Freeway
2021
Cotton, acrylic
14 x 17 inches
$300.00
When you are driving the freeway, what do you see? What do you observe? Traffic for sure, but before long you have lost sight of where-ever it was you started from, and you certainly don't see any sign of your destination. Just a continuous blur of colors and shapes, flowing on and on, losing any meaning. Even the big buildings in the background have lost their identity, they all look the same.
In this illustration, I didn't even have a way to draw the landscape. The clouds in the sky all look the same, too, even though they aren't really all the same. Thankfully, there is one solid anchor in this picture: The Sun.
So why did I name this picture, "Traffic"? I guess because that is the existential reality of driving the freeway.
